My Five Year Writerversary
Today marks the five year anniversary of when I became a writer. It has been an awesome journey so far, and looking back, I’m not sure if five years ago, I would’ve imagined being where I am in my journey as a writer. I’ve always taken an interest in writing, even at an early age, and as teen, I had began with writing poetry. Two of my poems were published and it was an exciting moment for me.
For a while, I set aside my goal of becoming a writer to pursue other interests, and there were also other reasons for putting the idea on the backburner. It was on this day five years ago, when I had gotten the idea of writing a story. I was fascinated with two fictional characters from a video game, so I wrote a story about one of them. At that time, it was not a complete story, but I wanted to do something more with it, so I decided to do some research on the matter. Later, I had gotten the idea of changing certain elements of the story and with that process, it started taking a form of it’s own. It was no longer a fan fiction, but it was its own story, completely different from the original one and it ended up becoming the first story that I had published and a series of five books. Since then, I had written several books/series with several series being spinoffs to the second book series that I had written. I also had the opportunity to work on other projects relating to the books/stories, including the creation of games that are based on/inspired by them. I am thankful for getting to this point and I look forward to continuing my journey as an author.
