It’s been well over a month now since I decided to walk away from a certain situation. I can honestly say that I don’t regret the decision, nor do miss being in that situation, in fact, it was probably one of the best decisions that I had made. Walking away isn’t always easy, but was liberating for me. It was also an important decision as I continue my journey of healing. Making that decision freed me in so many ways. I’m more awake to what was happening in that situation. I’m no longer weighed down by the feelings of dread, depression, and despair that came with that situation. It also freed up more of my time to do the things that I enjoy. It’s great to put more of my focus on the things that bring me joy.
For a while now, I’ve been focusing a lot more on my journey of healing. There is so much that I’ve learned, and there are things that are still being revealed to me. Even though I know that I can’t change the things that happened in the past, I can do something to change the outcome. I can rewrite the narrative and I don’t have to remain stuck in vicious cycles.
It wasn’t always easy, and I didn’t expect it to be. Sometimes there are setbacks. I’ve certainly dealt with a few, one of which occurred last week, on the 10th/11th. It was a major setback for me, and it came unexpectedly, but I pressed on in my journey. I’m so glad that I kept going even during that difficult time, even though it’s going to take time to heal even from that. Even through that situation, I’ve learned things. There was another situation that I knew would be a challenge, but I knew not to let my guard down. There are still things that I still need to work on, and I know that it’s going to take time, but I’m going to keep moving forward.
I’ve been keeping busy with various projects. One of the things I worked on was a little video about saying no to bullying. This was after hearing about an unfortunate event which occurred not too long ago. I felt compelled to create this because I believe that it needs to be seen and heard, especially during these times when there seems to be so much hatred and a lack of compassion and consideration for others. It wasn’t anything special or fancy, it was something that I felt that I needed to do, and I wanted to do it.
The first of this month marked the three-year anniversary of the game Stranded, which the first game that I had created. Stranded is a point and click text adventure game that is based on the book Union Of Sorrows: The Beginning. The game also features several platformer minigames. It was one of the first of four game development projects that I began working on three years ago, and it was the first one to be completed and released. Through the years, it became a series, with the second game of the series being released on the same date the following year and being based on the second story of the book series. The third game of the series was released last year, also being on the first of July. The games had been updated and the newest game of the series, Stranded 4, was released as a demo on the first of this month. A teaser game for the series, “What Happened To Steven?” was released June 5th of this year.
I’ve been working on several writing projects, including a new story with new characters. I’ve also been continuing the work on several stories from a series that I’ve been working on for several years now. The series is near completion, but there is still quite a bit of work to do before some of the stories can be published. I’ve been working on a spinoff to a series that I had completed not long ago. There’s also a small project that I had recently completed, which is a short spinoff to the series that I’ve been working on for several years. It’s a series of flash fiction stories telling about a man who is on a challenging journey in order to hold on to the one thing that matters most to him.
